If the Mayans are correct, then this is it. Just a little under a year remains for Earth and all its inhabitants. That's a good reason as any to not make any resolutions for the new year. If I can't evaluate how well I did at the end of the year, then screw it. Well that was easy. While I may not being making resolutions per se, there are some things I look forward to taking place in 2012. So what do I have in mind?- As the work schedule allows I'm going to schedule my Architectural Registration Exams (there are seven) and work toward becoming a licensed architect (and with it all the legal resposibilities). April-ish through October-ish are usually quite busy, so ideally I'm looking at 12-18 months. That can work.- Get pre-approved for a home loan and start the housing search. My apartment has been great, but come July it will be three years, so I'm looking for a change and something I can wholeheartedly make my own. I know what I'm looking for in a house, so the hardest part will be selecting what Chicago neighoborhood to start looking.- Spending nine full days exploring Turkey, or at least the western half. Theresa, Jeff, and I started some planning over Christmas and mid-March will be here before I know it. With the camera and lenses in tow I will be in heaven.- Give stand up another go. I've never really had an uncomfortable or bad stand up experience, so there's no good reason why I haven't done it in forever. But comedy was practically invented in Chicago, so it'll definitely be a tough crowd. I have a small set ready that I'll have to test on some trusted people and then find an open mic night.- Explore Chicago. There is still a lot I haven't seen. A LOT.And that's only the stuff I can think of. And I didn't think very long. There will be the usual ranting, raving, and photography. And I'll keep you updated right here. Here's to 2012 bitches.
